Hexane

CAS 110-54-3

Hexane is the solvent that extracts most of the world's vegetable oil. Pressing alone leaves oil in the seed; hexane takes nearly all of it, which is why cold-pressed oil is a separate and more expensive product.

Where it is and isn’t permitted
