Guar gum is a thickener and stabiliser milled from the guar bean. It is used in ice cream, sauces, baked goods, and gluten-free products, and thickens strongly at low concentrations.

What it is made from
Milled from the endosperm of the guar bean, Cyamopsis tetragonoloba, grown mainly in India and Pakistan. The process is mechanical separation and grinding rather than chemical extraction. No animal material is involved.
